Bike event benefits local dental care

The Health District is teaming up with the Fort Collins Cycling Club to offer a fun event that helps less fortunate members of the community receive badly needed dental care. The annual Spring Warm-up Ride takes place Sunday, May 4, and benefits the Tooth Fairy Fund, which assists local residents unable to afford even the low sliding fees at the Health District’s Family Dental Clinic.

The event begins at 8 a.m. at the Spring Canyon Park in Fort Collins. Three routes are offered this year, including a guided 12-mile ride on local trails for children and families. For those wanting a longer ride, there are 44- and 62-mile courses that take cyclists out country roads north of Fort Collins.

Registration is $40 for individuals; $60 for families (maximum of two adults per family). Fee includes a post-ride lunch served at the Spring Canyon Park Pavilion. For more information or to register, visit the Fort Collins Cycling Club website at fccycleclub.org.
