Help available for those quitting during Smokeout

Thursday, Nov. 20 is the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout, when tobacco users are encouraged to quit smoking or plan a quit date. Whenever people are thinking of quitting smoking, the Health District’s Step Free from Tobacco program is ready to help them succeed.

Step Free from Tobacco is the area’s only quit-tobacco program that uses research-based methods to help people end or cut down their use of tobacco. The six-session program, which is led by certified tobacco treatment specialists, is available as a group class or as one-on-one counseling. It includes free nicotine patches, gum or lozenges for all participants. Sliding fees are available to those who qualify. A 25% "buddy discount" is also available to Health District residents who enroll with a friend or family member.

For more information on Step Free from Tobacco, call the Health District of Northern Larimer County at 970-224-5209 or visit healthdistrict.org/quit-smoking.
